Genuine: Overprints on all values may or may not be genuine, whether unused or used.

Regne de Pahlavi 1925 overprint on 1924 portrait issue (set of 4).
IPSC 5B1
IPSC Catalogue Section 5B is available to members.
! Authentication required of 6ch unused.
Genuine: Overprints on values other than the unused 6ch are probably genuine. Unused 6ch may or may not be genuine. Reportedly, only 6000 of the 6ch were issued. The frames of the basic stamps of the 1924 issue are found in two sizes depending upon on the direction of the paper grain and the resulting shrinkage. Genuine overprints are known only on the tall narrow stamps (24x32½ mm) and not on the short wide stamps (24½x31½ mm). The genuine overprint shows a black dot protruding down from the center of the bottom of the scroll at the bottom. This dot is missing in the forgery.

[An illustration will be added.]

Forgeries: The forged overprint without the dot is known on short wide stamps perf 11x11½ (all values) and 11½ (6 ch).
1926
Regne de Pahlavi 1926 overprint on originals and reprints of the 1909 arms issue (set of 16).
IPSC 5C1
IPSC Catalogue Section 5C is available to members.
! Authentication required for perf 12½x12 copies.
Genuine: Overprints on perf 11½ are probably genuine. Overprints on perf 12½x12 may or may not be genuine.
Forgeries: At least three overprint forgery types are known. In general, all forgeries have a different shaped Farsi "3" in the top line and the serifs are very poor, especially the top of the 1 in the bottom line, and the loop of the P meets the upright at right angles, whereas in the genuine overprint it usually does not meet the upright and is curving up slightly. The projection at the top of the g is also wrong in the forgeries.

Type B. Seen on all values except 20 and 30 kr. [Illustration will be addded.]
